After many years of frustratingly seeing reviews of games from big media outlets that seem to “rate” games based on how much money was pumped into a game or by how they think their rating will make their site or company look, I’ve created this site in a hope to make a trusted review site for anyone who is interested in games, experienced or not.
Each game I review will be given 3 scores:
The first score will be an unbaised and objective look at the game’s strengths and weaknesses. This score will be most useful for experienced gamers who want a general summary and feel of the game without any spoliers or personal opinions.
The second score will be a review with with an emphasis on ease of access, complexity of controls, and quality general game design. This review will be most useful for those who may have some difficulty getting used to a new game because they are new to gaming or are new to the specific genre or style.
Lastly, the third score will be an opinion piece based on personal taste. This review will be most useful for those who like to find a reviewer that share similar tastes with themselves for a reliable and trustworthy suggestion.
Additionally, there will usually be special notes for each game that, while may not particularly be a specific pro or con of the game’s design or gameplay, may affect a user nonetheless. These note may include things such as in-game purchases (and how expensive they may be), online community and connection, additional content or different editions or versions, and things of the sort. What is written here may not be a concern for everyone and is more or less just additional notes for those who may want specific information that wouldn’t really apply to a blanket review.
Notes on Future Reviews
There are a LOT of games out there as well as a very large collection of platforms. This makes it difficult to keep up with every game for every console ever made. Initially what will be presented will be newer releases and personal favorites that I think should be reviewed and shared. That being said, suggestions for what should be reviewed are extremely welcome and will become a priority as soon as possible. So please suggest your favorites, any future games you may be interested in, or just about any game you would want reviewed. In the future I will try to keep a public list of games to be reviewed so that people know what’s on the docket as well as to avoid any possible duplicate suggestions as much as possible.
